Rotary District News

NEWS Every Club in District 6450 Can Use!

Dear Irresistible District 6450 Rotary Members,

I hope you are having a great summer enjoying family, friends and new adventures!

It is an honor and privilege to follow in the footsteps of Immediate Past District Governor Conor Gee and all our past district governors. I’m excited to serve alongside our dedicated District Team, Club Presidents and all our People of Action to share and grow The Magic of Rotary.

We all have The Magic of Rotary within us. It comes from our fellowship, our values, our Service Above Self ideal and Rotary’s rich framework of resources, programs and partnerships that we can engage throughout our global humanitarian network. The Magic of Rotary is ours to share and grow. So let’s do that and revolutionize Rotary to become Simply Irresistible!

Please enjoy this brief video by RIP Stephanie Urchick about the annual theme.

I am asking for your help to support RIP Stephanie’s important initiative to be an IRRESISTILBE DISTRICT by forming at least 4 new clubs (traditional, satellite, caused-based, Rotaract, …) and achieving a net membership increase of at least 100 or more this Rotary year. Attracting new members, retaining members and establishing new clubs is not easy. But our members are IRRESISTIBLE and together we can inspire the action needed to make this happen in our District.

I’m also focused on enhancing teamwork in the District Team (District Team Contact List) so that we can collaborate better to support our clubs. We will be looking for allies and partners everywhere to expand our reach.

And we’re providing resources for our clubs to grow Rotary and grow our impact:
  • Simply Irresistible Coaches and Club Gold Membership Plan to help grow, address challenges and start new clubs,
  • Strengthen and grow our Youth programs, including Interact, Early Act, RYLA and Youth Exchange to focus on service, leadership development and peace building,
  • Youth Mental Health First Aid initiative and Kindness Counts campaigns.
  • Project funds for environmental service, youth mental health, homeless veterans support, cards for senior and disaster response.
  • Several District-wide Days of Service, starting August 10.
  • Fall Grants Extravaganza, October 26, to introduce more clubs to opportunities and collaboration.
  • Advance our DEI action plan to ensure everyone feels safe, valued and that they belong.

I’m looking forward to visiting with all our members throughout the District. It’s going to be a great year with all of us working together to grow and celebrate The Magic of Rotary!

Yours in Rotary,

Rachel Ossyra
District Governor 2024-25
