Bylaw Committee

Purpose: Ensure the Rotary Club of Joliet's bylaws remain current and aligned with Rotary International requirements, District policies, and Club operations. Responsibilities: Review bylaws and governance documents as needed and recommend amendments. Monitor Rotary and District policy changes affecting Club operations. Ensure the Club's leadership structure, committees, and practices are accurately reflected in governing documents. Present recommendations to the Board, facilitate member review of proposed changes, and maintain the official bylaws and amendment history. Bylaw Review Requirement: Per Article XVII, the President shall appoint a committee of non-Board members every five years, beginning in August 2015, to conduct a comprehensive bylaw review and recommend amendments. The committee must report to the Board within seven months of appointment and follow all amendment procedures outlined in the bylaws.
